DAN BAILEYDuring the three months period — January through March — West Virginia reported 93 traffic deaths as compared to North Carolina which reported 391 and is also a mountain stale.During this period lost year, West Virginia reported l(0 deaths and North Carolina, 334. This is a minus 7.5 per cent change in West Virginia and a plus 17 per cent change in North Carolina, according to the West Virginia Traffic Summary.Other surrounding stales, as compared to West Virginia show that Kentucky reported 197 traffic deaths during the three months period, compared to the jsatne time span last year in which it reported 190 giving it a plus one pur cent in change; Maryland reported 149 during this period, 150 last year thus giving a minus one per cent change; Ohio — 452, comparedto 477 last year, minus Five per cent change; Pennsylvania — 427, compared to 448 in 1968. change of minus five per cent; Tennessee — 255, compared to 278 last year with minus eight per cent change; Virginia — 253, compared to 261 last year, with a minus three per cent change; and Ihe District of Columbia — 23, compared to 21 last year, with a plus 10 per cent change.The National death tell for this period this year was 11,-430, compared to 10,880 Inst year, with a plus six per cent change.The Yale Literary Cabinet was the first college magazine in the United States. Kanawha St, Dan will be appearing at Cliff side Amphitheatre, Grandview State Park, for the first time.The focal youth is completing his first year at Beckley College where he is on the Dean's list, The son of Mr. and 'Mrs. Claude Bailey Jr. of 416 North Vance { Drive, Dan and his wife, Jane, have been married since Feb. 3 this year.Next fall, the talented guitarist expects to attend the Herklce School of Music in Boston, Mass., where he will continue his work toward a goal us a professional musician. He is a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and while a student there he performed in school minstrels and other WWHS productions.Last summer Dan was a member of the Cleveland, Ohio Imperials and performed in many clubs in that state. He also played engagements in Virginia and Pennsylvania as a member of the troupe of Fran and Her Escorts, a Baltimore, Md., entertainment ensemble. He laugh Iguitar lessons at the Becklcy YMCA for two years and has •given private instruction for one and one-half years.Dan was a member of the grflup which cut a record of “That's All We Need, and recently with a friend has organized the Purple Haze Music Publishing Co.Tliis summer “Honey’* will start its eighth season on June 22 and play nightly, except Mondays, through Sept. 1.
