Manvllle Machine company of Watcrbury. and the Remington Arms*Union Motalllc Cartridge company and the British-American Artillerycompany of Bridgeport. The North Judd Manufacturing company of New Britain has a $1,000,000 order from the British government for soldiers* equipment straps.Appeals for skilled workers, which the munition makers have Issued from ttmo to time, hav© resulted In flooding Connecticut cities with hordes of unskilled laborers and adventurers. All who arc willing: to work have been absorbed through the demand for unskilled labor of all kinds that the war orders have caused. But the crying need now is for skilled labor.Tho Remington Arms-Union Metallic Cartridge company celebrated the completion of one of its twenty new factories last night by opening Sts five doors for an entertainment for its employees. Two floors were given over to dnnclng, one to vaudeville and one to a dinner. Ten thousand employees and their families attended.
