He works three days a week in Daube’s shoe Separtment and attends school three days—determined to get a :ollege education. Jack recently married the former Sue Brown.Mary Sne Herndon is back from the hospital, recuperating at the family home, 617 A St. SE. She s a former telephone operator and ler husband, Jack, works for Hud-son-Houston. The happiest little ?irls In Ardmore are the Herndon laughters, Darla Sue, 4, and Linda, 1—glad to see Mommie home. Best wishes for your recovery, Mary Sue.Johnny Lynn Cartwright must have been the youngest spectator at the Community swimming pool Sunday—just a month old. He is the youngest of the Johnyn Cartwrights, 615 W. Main. His dad works for Bob Bell in the produce business.Rex Piokerlng with the Gulf Oil Co. is the owner of a new home at 817 E St. SE. moving there a few days ago with his wife, Charlene, and daughter, Cindy, iust a year and a half old. The Pickerings came originally from Henry-etta and Rex attended college at East Central. He loves to fish and hunt, and the family worship at the First Christian Church.Bill and George Ann Hatfieldof Henryetta were visiting the Rex Pickerings, with Bill, just out of college, down here looking for a job.Ray Keeton, who is associated in business with his dad, G. L. Keeton, has taken on an interesting sideline, that of raising parakeets. He has built a sizeable coop, house or whatever you call a parakeet roost and has about 150 birds of all sizes and ages contained therein. Ray has been in the parakeet business about two years — and right now he is taking a fling at raising canaries—thereby learning♦v.original Jack Smith. His wife,1 Bertha, says her Jack Smith might be the best gardner in town as that is his one and only hobby.; The Jack Smiths own their home at 510 L St. which is right next to the new building being erected for the Safeway store. The Smiths worship at the K Street Baptist Church.iiLet* Mae Walters is the Jack j Smith’s daughter, their only offspring. Her husband is Henry Walters who works at the Ben1 Franklin Refinery. The more im- j portant members of the Walters family (to the Jack Smiths) are Mary Jo, Henry Jr., and Jackie Walters. The Walters family live ZVz miles west of Ardmore and worship at the Bethel Baptist i Church.B. O. Doss, Wilson appliance dealer, says he had a hard time trying to cash the $1000 bill he was awarded for his Norge sales record recently—tried to spend it at nearly every store in town so finally had to deposit it in the bank of Wilson. B. G. showed me a photo of a beauty sitting in his lap while the $1000 bill was being presented to him—so I asked Mrs. Doss if it didn't make her jealous. “Not if he was getting a $1000 bill,” she replied.Mrs. D. C. Bishop and hermother, Mrs. C. M. Holloway, were entertaining Mrs. A. B. Perkins of Fort Worth, sister and daughter of the Wilson folks, who was reared in Wilson. Mrs. Per- i kins said it felt good to be back to the old home town.Mrs. A. W. Klmherlin, whom I met in Wilson, turned out to be an \ old acquaintance—used to sell' her groceries at Ragtown (Wirt) ! more than 35 years ago when A. W. worked there for the Magnolia. He is now retired and they live at Zaneis.Jim Klmberlin, 8, grandson of Mrs. A. W., had just acquired a ; haircut that made his blonde head i shine. He is the son of Charles and Freda Kimberlin and his dad is also a Magnolia employee—sort of runs in the family. Other members of the Charles Kimberlin family are, Clark, Sharon, Charles Jr., and Manford. The younger Kimberlins also live near Zaneis and the youngsters attend school there.
