S. Cheshire was elected chairman and J. J. Calhoun secretary of that meeting.After the democratic and Third Parties being fullv discussed, the following resolution was passed :Resolved, By the undersigned citizens or this community that we form ourselves into the People’s Party.J. Calhoun.There were but two votes against the People’s Party, and one of them said he did not know what he was and the other said that he was for the Alliance demands through the democratic party, but both said they wanted the quickest relief.There were several here that had joined the party before that I will not give their names for publication.There were twenty-two women present who voted and said thev wanted the People’s Parly to go into effect.J.
