The Beautiful Old Whipple HouseHave you been out Middle Street waylatelv?♦If you haven't you should. If you have, and you haven't taken a good look at the Whipple House, you should.It’s unfortunate but. the city doesn't hand out civic improvement medals or something of that nature. If it did. Frank E. Reynolds, owner of the historic old structure, should get a decoration, first class, with strawberry cluster.What Reynolds has done with the Whipple House is an indication of the value these properties could realize if money and careful thought went into their preservation.Reynolds' workmen have done a masterly job in making it appear as though the Whipple House never had any other site. True, it will take a little time to heal the scars in the landscaping and let the brickwork ripen, but that will happen.We think Col. Joseph Whipple would he proud of the house, although if the colonel were around, it might be difficult to explain the new location. After all. in Whipple's day that part of town was open Held and no street had been punched through from Hay market Square.Frank Reynolds deserves praise for his contribution to improvement in the city's appearance.
