Smith, died very suddenly at her ] residence, 327 South Ma n street, at 3:30I'rt Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Smith was e- born in Maysville, Kv., in 1806, where she passed her early life, coming to Jacksonville in 1841, where she has since resided. She was the mother of eight children, four of whom survive her, namely—Hon. Geo. W. Smith, James T. j Smith, Margaret Smith and Mrs.Mary Forwell. She was the | oldest of a family of seventeen children, all of whom preceeded her in death, and two of whom, Nathaniel and Margaret I Hurst, were well known in Jacksonville.V | On the 13th of April the 86th birthday of Mrs. Smith was celebrated in this cityi! bv a reunion of her children, grand '• children and great grand-children.
