I focus on low volume, high quality pictures,” Thymius said.The road to becoming a photographer has been a natural progression for Thymius.“I have been involved with photography since childhood,” she explained. “I grew up helping my mother in her darkroom, and building my first pinhole camera in the third grade as part of a school project.” Thymius grew up in Princeton and has lived in the Beckley area for the past six years. She and her husband Andrew are both physicians for Access Health, a federally funded health center. Both are board certified in family practice and she does out-patient work at Rural Acres Clinic in Beckley. Her husband’s practice is located on Carriage Drive in BeckleyThymius is also the mother of three children — Max, 8, Adam, 5, and Drew,2.“When I became a mother, my interest in photography was renewed and I became devoted to capturing every moment of my children’s lives,” she said. “It’s the moments of childhood that bring back strong memories and emotions and myand he does hospital work as well.“As I doctor, I have to make my patients feel comfortable and this has translated in my photography career.
