7th GRADERS TOUR TOX BURY GHETTOAn ABRJH 7th grade class recently made a tour of the Roxbury ghetto, and the new Boston City Hall.For the past two months, the class has been studying city planning using the “new town’’ concept originated in England. Each student has designed, and built, their idea of what the perfect city might contain in the way of housing, industry, recreation, and open space. Some of the students’ models will soon be on display at the Acton public library. The tour was planned by Art teacher Bill Cummings to help show what is being done to rehabilitate and renew Bostons inner core.Mrs. Barbara Clancey of the Boston Redevelopment Authority arranged for the class to tour the Washington Park Project, The South End Project, '’the Waterfront Project, and the new Government Center which includes the architecturally controversial Boston City Hall. The students were able to see that in many places, Roxbury residents were deeply involvedwith making their community a better place to live. Participating students were: Paula Bergin, Paul Bedau, Bob Booth-by, Scott Broughton, Ronnie Curtis, Andrew Carnegie, Tom Dow, Nancy Farnsworth, Bob Folsom, Julie Gilbert, ChipHagy, Ellen Hancock, Joe Hogan, Lorri Jenne, Heather Magoon, Ann McllHatten, PaulRav Merkb MaacyNadeau Cheryl Pacy, SaraPriest Iebbie Robbins, JudySkinner Hon Watty Martha Whiteny Paul Koridraf ar»dH lt;ft b r; r* M a Hs I;
