E, Sterling, whoon June 1 assumed the position of Assistant Chief Engineer and Chief of the Radio IntelligenceDivision of the Engineering Department of the Federal Communications Commission has had a long and distinguished careerin his chosen profession. The highlights of that career, which had its beginning when radio was in its infancy, include service to the armed forces in World War I. both on the Mexican border and overseas. In fact, he, as a young lieutenant m the Signal Corps, assisted in organizing the first radio intelligence section of the American Expeditionary Force in 1917Today, when radio intelligence becomes a thousand times more vital.
