pec ted hereabouts.Deputy slierifit, George Conner, went to Hamlet last week and arrested Samuel Taylor on two indictments preferred by George Schnaufer, one for provoke, and the other for an assault on said Schnaufer. Taylor says he Is not guilty, and says that Schnaufer came around where he was building a fence and told Taylor the fence was in the road. Perhaps there had been no overflow of affection between the two prior to that time, and Tavlor says he told Schnaufer to “go away or I’ll cuff you,” or something of that weight.
