The crack 98th Regiment of Enginers stationed in Italy, upon learning that the famous aggregation was to appear completed work on a modern stadium which is complete with stage equipment, lighting, sound system and stage setting just in time for the Wings conceit: :r!A prolonged ovation broke from the men, many of whom have waited three and four years for such a touch of home, as the choir appeared. The program which followed was received with undisguised emotions as tears wet the cheeks of many GI veterans. The choir gave encore after encore for the appreciative boys after which Captain Putman, commanding officer of the company invited the group to a social planned at one of the social centers.The stadium, especially completed for their concert, was named, The Wings Over Jordan Stadium” in honor of the chorus. Many indications of how valued the entertainment from this group, so familiar to the GIs abroad, have been given. On May 7, “VE” Day, they were named to open a seriesof celebration concerts in the Yankee Stadium and also to give the Mother’s Day program for the regiments stationed there.Dr. Settles is traveling with the
