Clarinettist,Two music workshops will be offered to Sitkans during the three weeks of the Sitka Summer Music Festival.One of them, a student clarinettist and horn workshop,will begin on Wednesday, June 6 at 10a.m. at the Allen auditorium of the Sheldon Jackson Campus. Kurt Posch, well-known Alaskan clarinettist and music teacher in Anchorage schools, is joining the artists of the festival and is the instructor of the workshop.Jim Hope urges all interested students to attend the workshop, since it offers an excellent opportunity for improvement for all clarinettists, and horn players. The fee will be $5, for which the student will receive a ticket for the series of six concerts also.The other workshop will be a course on elements of chamber music. It will consist of discussions of form, texture and style--as related to chamber music-everything you wanted to know about chamber music and wre afraid to ask.The class is taught by PaulRosenthal and will meet on Wednesdays beginning June 6Music IScheduledfrom 3-5 p.m. at the Stevenson lounge on the Sheldon Jackson Campus.
