LEO DAMGE; BUTLER CHOSEN CHEER LEADER.Wiio) — hisPrank Mulcahy, Chicago. a Columbia 3unlor, was chosen student athletic manager for Columbia college, at a meeting of the next year'ssenior class at Loras hall Tuesday afternoon. Edward Butler, of Witte-more. la., was chosen head cheer leader at the same meeting.The two men chosen are both among the most popular students at Columbia and both have been exceedingly prominent In athletic and sports affairs during their three years at the college. Mulcahy has been a member of the football squad for three years, playing guard, and acquitting himself well on the field. He has been also prominent in dramatics and publication works, appearing in several dramatic club productions this year, and holding associate editorships on the Lorian, Columbia newspaper, and the annual, the Purgold.Butler has been an athletic leader at the college for his entire three-year career there. He has worked as assistant cheer leader under •‘Scoop Priel all year, and has achieved considerable recognition.This year's election was something of a departure from precedent, as both of the men chosen are already members of the “C” club.The retiring cheer leader and student manager are Francis Scoop'' Priel, of Boone. Iowa, and H. Leo Damge, of Stanley. Iowa, both of whom will graduate this June. Energetic workers, and competent organizers. they have done much to make the 1827 athletic season the success it has been.rA
