One Way of “Raising the Wind.”A young fellow struck the town of Walkerton the other day and announced himself as a high rope walker. He had his rope up and everything else ready to give an exhibition in the evening. After passing the hat and collecting about three dollars he tried to climb to the rope on a pole suspended from it, but after several attempts he gave it up and the show was declared off amid the jeers of the crowd. He wanted to raise a little money and he took this method of getting it. As an exhibition of nerve it was worth anybody, s live cents who contributed. The fellow was egged by the boys before he got out of town.
