PORTLANDPeaks Island People Ask For Lower Insurance Rates—-Coming Visit of President HardingPORTLAND, Jde, July 30-Peaka Is-land la once more In the civic limelight, this time with respect to insurance rates. Residents of the islapd feel that with the improved water service they are entitled to a reduction , in the rates which they have to pay for protection and in this stand they have the sympathy of Mayor Clarke.The other day representatives of the New England Insurance Exchange conducted a test at the island, ttngine 4, ono of the big pumpers, being taken down for the purpose, and the Peaks folk are hoping that as an outcome of this test they may be granted more fa-: vorablo rates.The two civic bodies which have done so much to advance the Interests of that i portion of the city ure tho Trefothen i and Evergreen Improvement Society and I the Business Men’s Progressive Asso- , elation. Tho former is the older, but the business men's organization has done?reat work In behalf of the island, being ormed just In time to aid in the fight to secure Sebago water;
