GEORGE FRYER, now aresident of Fairfield, Texas, is one of those who is making a contribution to the history of Aransas Pass which is being prepared. The 97 year old attorney taught in Aransas Pass in J 903-1904 during the time when the school system was a one-teacher schoolwith 35 students. His oldest student was John D. Wheeler, the son of then County Attorney T. B. Wheeler, a former Lt. Governor of the State of Texas. San Patricio County Attorney Dick Hatch met Fryer at a meeting in Beaumont about six weeks ago. Hatch is the chairman of the committee that is gathering information for the history of Aransas Pass which will be published in time for the Bicentennial celebration.
