HOMEWOOD NEWS.jj ?, s : ^ ■ l.::^1, *? v -1On last Thursday afternoon from 6to 8 o’clock Miss Myrtle Spivey entertained a number of her friends in honor of Misses Norma and Lorene Spivey of Moultrie, Ga., and Fred Stalvey, Jr., of Lake City, S. C. Interesting games were enjoyed in the park for awhile. Then the party retired to the house where music was furnished by Miss Norma, who is quite an accomplished pianist. At 7:30 ice cream and cake were served by Misses Myrtle Spivey and Celeste Moore. The paper doilies were distributed by Miss Lorene Spivey. At 8:15 almost the entire party went to church. Those present were: Misses Hattie Smith, Celeste, Alliene and Myrtle Moore, Norma and Lorene Spivey, Minnie and Laura Harris, Elisabeth and Nancy Dew, Belle and Bessie Gause and Maude Sessions. Messrs. Harry Bray, Manzy Gause, Tom Hart, Len Dew, Paul Smith, Fred Stalvey, Jr., Lewis Harris and Hubert Moore. Also Mrs. Fred Stalvey, Mrs. Will Spivey, Mrs. Ben Moore, Mrs. A. E. Wait and Mrs. Geo. Bray. The little juveniles were, Eugene, Jack and Vera Moore.The series of meetings which has been going on for the past week closet! Sunday afternoon. Our pastor’s brother, Rev. Philips, of Kingstree, has been doing the preaching. He is one of the best preachers we have had the pleasure of hearing.Mrs. Will Spivey and daughter, Miss Norma, and neice, Miss Lorene Spivey, Mrs. Fred Stalvey and son, Fred, Jr., left Friday for Myrtle Beach, after spending a very pleasant week at Homewood visiting friends and relatives.
