In ’Squire Ray’s court, Mrs. Mary A. Allen was tried on a charge of assault and battery upon Samuel Franer, when he went on Tuesday to demand his child from her. The trial resulted in the acquittal of the defendant. Franer and his wife were then placed on trial before Judge McGregor for assaulting Mrs. Allen, andwere fined SlL7C.
