A Father Prays for Custody of HisChild.lt;3at t at rS; F RefthaiEofficandShuSamuel Farner yesterday filed a petition in the Circuit Court for the possession and custody of Roselda Farner, an infant of the age of eight years, of whom he shows that he is the fatherand natural guardian. The mother of the child is deceased, since which time, a period of about two years, the said infant has resided with her grandmother, Mary A. Allen, in Clinton township, Cass county. Farner is now married again and prepared to furnish a home and living for the child.On the 27th inst. he went with his wife and demanded said child of the grandmother, but the latter peremptorily and ai usively ‘refused to give her up and forced himself and wife away from the house. The petitioner ^ee alleges that the said Mary A. Allen is very poor, and told him that she could and would force the county to clothe, the feed and school the child; that she is j ed \ rough, obscene and abusive in her man*ner and language to and in the presence T1 of the child, and is on this account en* the tirely Unfit to have control of her. He j pet, further avers that he is able to provide j. for the child, and prays for the custody j ,ttof her. j jtJudge Chase, yesterday afternoon, GlBheard the petition at chambers, and ■ directed the clerk to issue a writ of; y habeas corpus ordering Mary A.
