As may be seen, parking is provided for several thousand motorSun Photo by Hale*vehicles in close proximity to the varied business •* tablishments.By Estelle ShanleyBURLINGTON — Selected B'Urlingtonians who were invited to a sneak preview of the Burlington Mall yesterday saw that a totally new experience awaits shoppers going to the Mall, Newiosedng centera^BIarKTs newest and largest^Hosed shoppiH^^^HBStores in the Mail, represent virtually every consumer cata-gory and comprise the largest selection of merchandise and services ever assembled underone roof in New England.In the main Mail yesterday afternoon, one saw familiar faces who easily could havecomprised a “who’s who inBurlington.”Police Chief, Edward McCaf-fertv, looked harried, thinking no doubt about the many traffic problems soon to be coped with when the Mall officially opens on Monday. Selectmen and ex-Se-lectmen looked relieved finally to' be viewing the complex that has taken up so much, of 'their time and energies over the past two years. Mall officials, probably for the first time, met a large gathering of the civic community on cordout anyone pay for it?ial grounds with-asking, “ but who’llEVERY Burlingtonian presentseemed to be impressed. School CommitteeMember Helen Murphy and mer Morris who said, as he gazed wonderingly over the complex, “would, you believe this is Burlington ?Other familiar faces at the sneak preview were Mary Joyce, Paul Curtin from the chapter commission, the Ray McLaren’s, Jim Mawn, the Edwin Ellis’s, the superintendent of Burlington ■Schools Herman Dunseith, his charming wife dressed in pink silk, Joan Miles, newest member of the school committee and her husband and famed cartoonist, Stephen Miles.OTHER WELL KNOWN Burlington residents touring the complex were Town Moderator Richard Meaney, and many finance committee members, as well as board of appeals, personnel board chairman Roberto. Town building inspector, PaulJohnston served as a reminder to the business community that Burlington still primarily is a residential community.The Burlington Mall is spectacular from every point of view.
