This quartet of California youngsters who gained fame with Iowa's Andy Williams singing barbershop harmony has been added to the Hollywood Palace grandstand revue. They'll perform the opening two nights with George Kirbyand other entertainers on the portable stage.Just for the rock'n'roll set is an all-new teen show Kid’s Day,the opening day. Johnny Tillotson whose Poetry in Motionbeeame a million-record seller and who has been a guest on the Jimmy Dean and Tonight shows will be the headliner. With him will be Jo Ann Campbell and Troy Seals, recording, night club and television attractions. The Fendermen will provide a lively beat.Bring your tractors to the fair for two mornings of tractor-pulling contest. Entrants will be in four weight classes competing for $1,100 cash. Entry closing date is Aug. 15.Bob Barnes of Peterson will put on a Rodeo Cowboy Association rodeo two nights. That RCA sanction means contestants will be earning points toward national titles in standard rodeo events.Barnes will bringportableehutes and championship-calibre stock.Attracting the most interest within rural Clay County is the new Hall of a 100 Holiday Doors which replaces the time-worn township exhibits. Each township is busy planning ways to decorate 10 doors artistically aroundholiday themes.Joie Chitwood's Thrill Show will be the first daredevil-on-ivfiecls attraction in several years opening day.The Iowa Rose Society will have a show in the floriculture building which will attract entries by rose fanciers from ■ across state.Fairgoers for the first time in several years will see no s weeping changes in Fair facilities. But grass is being reseeded after last year's rainy Fair week to provide a picturesque setting.
