| 200 Sailors, 60 Artillerymen Guests of TownSenator Lodge and Mrs Gardner Assist in “Hospitality DaySpeelfll Dispatch to the GlobeNAHA NT, July 27-Two hundred sailors from ships in the Charlestown Navy Yard, the Harvard Radio School, and the coast patrol and 60 coast artillery-| men from the 73d Regiment were the guests of the people of Nahant today,It was styled Community Hospitality Day, and from early afternoon :until i midnight the service men were royally entertained. Summer residents joined with the permanent residents in entertaining the boys.The Navy men brought along the bandfrom the USS Georgia and upon theirarival there was a flag raising on Ma-joram Hill. Bach man in the service was given a numbered ticket. An equal number of tickets was distributed among the young women and the search, of the latter for their especial guests was productive of much amusement.J The athletic sports showed that the Navy was more proficient than the Coast Artillerymen. Russell Peterson Of the Radio School finished first and Frank McManus of the Nahant Dock Guard second in the 100-yard, dash and then they won the three-legged race, with Harry Barnes and William Curt-ney of the Army second.The diving plunge for distance was won by Homer F. I man of the U. 8. 8. Georgia, with private James Thompson of the Artillery, second. In the 100-yard swim the positions were just reversed.The centipede race was new to ther sailors and they were beaten by the soldiers. The winners were William •}. Mac Kay, Brin Allen, James Clancey, William Dolley, Peter Matusiak, Charles Forentina, Arthur Boradbentl. Frank Anderson, Stephen Woodman and Ambrose Duggan.The Army representatives also won the tug-of-war. Their trench shoes were said by the sailors to be the deciding factor.After the sports the men were entertained at lunch served on Morjoran Hill by the hostesses of the day. Practi- * cally every resident in the town con-trlbuted food for the Lunch and the menu was varied and most attractive There was dancing at the Town Hall.United States Senator Henry Cabot t Lodpe and his daughter, Mrs Augustus r\,:|-Qardner. were among the guest*, Mrs'Gardner officiated in the flag-railing ceremony.
