Y., July 24.—Dr. Peters, of the Litchfield Observatory, Hamilton College, starts to-day for Des Moines, Iowa, with his new German spectroscope and other instruments for observing the solar eclipse of August 7th. His assistants arc Professor Rogers, of New Haven, and Frederick Hubbard and Isaac H. Hall, of New York.
