EAST INDIAN CEREMONY IN TOWN OF FORT MARIA.(From our Correspondent.)PORT MARIA. July 20.—On Saturday last the East Indians of Wentworth Farm, the property of the United Fruit, brought their “Houssh” into town; it is apparently the last for this year. The building of this “Houssa” occupied many months and the builder Mr. Moses J. Davis turned out one excelling all others exhibited this year. Not only was it the largest,* but the design was very artistic, and plainly shewed that abundance of time and labour was spent in its construction. As customary the ceremony attached to the East Indian festival starts from the n’sht before and quite a large crowd journeyed to the Cross Roads at Little Bay to witness the opening parade, which covered a distance of about three miles, the procession stopping at several places during the parade. On the 16th the final parade started at mid-day and continued until 5 p. m. when everything was dumped into the harbour, by th*f'aharitt.a Island.
