Boardwalk Days arrives at BeachBv Jim MosherWINNIPEG BEACH — This resort town's premiere summer event kicks off today for a three-day run- Boardwalk Days features a host of attractions for the whole family.Arguably the centrepiece of Boardwalk Days, Wonder Shows returns to the town's Main Street. The midway opens 5 p.m. this evening, noon to midnight Saluiday, and noon to 5 p.m. as it winds down Sundav.There are also vendors today and tomorrow; the Saturday parade, which begins at 11 a.m.; fireworks Saturday evening; free facepainting by members of the Winnipeg Beach Day Camp, Saturday and Sunday I p.m. to 3 p.m. at the bandstand; entertainment of the outdoor stage; and more.The parade starts on Prospect then wends its way down Ash, then up Stitt St. Winnipeg Blue Bombers mascots Buzz and Boomer will be in the parade. There'll be prizes, awarded at the handstand staoe atnoon, for best decorated bicycle and best floats in a variety of categories, such as business and most humorous.Rec Manager Allan Sulyma, who's coming off a successful Canada Day. says In Motion will be playing the bandstand, starting at 8 p.m. Saturday. In Motion consists of young men from the Beach and Gimli; they are lead singer Ben Figler, drummer Brian Gluck, and guitarists Willie Jakobson, Nathan Noordman and Dylon Petrowski.
