B, ‘‘Bo” Williams, 440 De-• vine Road, has chocked in to add something to thediscussion of tulip trees,Williams says: “The tree, in Kentucky, is called the yellow poplar or tulip poplar. It was the slate tree. ■: In pioneer times these trees were used in the building of houses and the making of furniture.“Yellow poplar is salt, light in weight and will not split easily when nails are driven through 51/'There are some tulip poplars standing in Frankfurt today, Williams relates, that are as much as 8 feet in diameter.
