Suit Seeks $502,500Two Mexiean-American fami-lies filed a $502,500 suit against) the I S. government in Abilene, federal court Wednesday for a 1964 explosion which killed two! persons and injured two others On Nov 29, 1964 a “dud artillery shell detonated on the!Clyde Sears Jr. ranch, 28 miles south of Abilene.¥ I IThe suit asks $47,500 for the death of Jessie Rodriquez, 14, of Knox City; $87,500 for the death; of ranch employe Salvador Her-; nandez, 22; $325,000 for injuries: i to Jessie Hernandez, also a ranch employe; and $42,500 forinjuries to Joe Rodriquez, twin! brother of Jessie Rodriquez.Suing are David Rodriquez,; father of the twins, and Jessie Hernandez and his wife, Paula. I The government is accused of; negligence in not removing eld shells from the former artillery! firing range of World War I!
