TOWN TOPICSWHERE THE BREEZES ALWAYS BLOW.AT STEEPLECHASE ISLAND.Many people from Newtown and vicinity have visited Bridgeport’s new and great amusement resort, George C. Tilyou’s Steeplechase Island, where the breezes always blow, and they proclaim it a delightful spot. With its 100 great attractions it is a second Coney Island and at night, with its magnificent electric illumination it is, as has been described by the Bridgeport press, a veritable fairyland. The sea breezes that blow from the Sound are refreshing and people from inland towns doubly enjoy the change of air. There Is sea bathing 24 hours in the day, the world famous Steeplechase Race Course, where everybody rides the horses, there being races every minute over a track that Insures the rider absolute safety and affords exhilaration to a marked degree. The new Steeplechase park with its score of attractions is in itself worth a trip to see, with Its Cave of the Winds, Funny Stairs, Waltzing Mice, Laughing Gallery, Down and Out, Barrel of Love, Kelley’s Slide, Monkey Menagerie, the Mystifying Ball Illusion, and many other features, the exciting Figure Eight Roller Coaster, the gorgeously furnished bail room that, is the finest In the world, the lavisbly decorated power plant which supplies light to the entire island, the thrilling circle swings, the mammoth carousel, board walk around island, Ferris wheel, Penny Arcade, Moving Picture Hall, Trip to the Holy Lands, jolly Razzle Dazzle, Sasso the Wonder, the Egyptain Astrologer, Rallo, the elephant boy. who has ,tbe form and features of a human being but the skin of an elephant, and other great features that aggregate 100.
