PLACES ABOUT THAT SHOULD BE SEEN.There are many attractive places near by that should be seen before the tourist returns to bis home.Pine Point and Scarbouo, on the railroad east from Old Orchard, are pleasant summer resorts with charms peculiar'to themselves.Poiitland and Casco Bay. Portland, the Forest City and metropolis of Maine, is one of the most beautiful of New England cities. Tourists will find this an advantageous place to do their trading, and a splendid place tospend the day. The islands in Casco Bay, 303in number are, many of them, popular resorts.Peak’s Island is the largest, and hero is situated the popular resortgreenwood garden,where are to be seen zoological gardens, groves fitted with swings, hammocks, flying horses, a high tower and a large opera liouse, where entertainments are given afternoon and evening The Bay View House, near the wliarf, is the leading first class hotel at the Island. Two lines of steamers, die Casco Bay at Custom House wliarf and the Greenwood at Franklin wliarf, Portland ply hack and forth daily.CUSHINGS ISLANDlays along side, and for Island scenery presents an unparalled view. The Ottawa House which opened June 29,1SSS, is the only hotel 1.11 die island. This is one of die largest and most finely appointed hostilery on die coastKennebunk and Ocean Bluff to die west twelve miles beyond Old Orchard. It is one of the prettiest of Maine’s forest villages. Kcnnehunkport on a branch road, is a growing summer resort, and a pretty little village, Ocean Bluff, its shore limit. Here the scenery for grandeur and variety is not equaled by any-diing on the coast.
