Kev. Allen, 75, Called By DeathThe Rev. Shelby J. Allen, 75, 1031 High St., died at 11:45 p. m., Monday in Hughes Memorial Hospital of a heart condition. He had been in ill health since 1055.The Rev. Mr. Allen was bom in Manchester, Ky., Sept. 23, 1889, a son of Steve and Lottie Allen. He was educated in the public schools of Manchester, Ky.For 10 years he was an engineer for the C and M Railroad in Kentucky after which he oame to Hamilton and was employed as a street car motorman and bus driver, retiring in 1046. At this time he returned to Kentucky and studied for the ministry, being ordained in the First Church of God on July 16, 1950.Pastor In ElkhornThe Rev. Mr. Allen was pastor of the Elkhorn, Ky., First Church of God until 1955 when he returned to Hamilton and became caretaker of the First Church of God Camp at Lebanon.He enjoyed reading, studying the Bible, visiting the sick and patients in nursing homes in the area.Since returning to Hamilton he had been a member of the First Church of God, Pleasant and Woodlawn Aves. On Jan. 20, 1958, he suffered a heart attack and had been hospitalized at various times since then. On Dec. 26, 1911, he married Eliza Owens in Manchester. Kv
