Debs Foundation to assist it In restoring the Debs residence as a memorial to the famous labor leader and social reformer. The check was conveyed to the Foundation’s officers by Thomas W. Mulvihill, former chairman of the Terre Haute Trainmen, the Eugene V. Debs Lodge of the B. R, T.Mulvihill stated that “The memory of Eugene Debs is cherished by all railroad workers. He was the; founder of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He also organized most of the other railway traions: the switchmen, the telegraphers, the carmen, and the locomotive firemen, and the engineers.+ + +“HE ALSO formed the first industrial type union in this country, the American Railway Union. We railroaders think that no man ever did as much for the American labor movement. Through his inspiring leadership in the labor movement and by Ms four presidential campaigns in which he advocated social reforms which we now have, the saintly Debs made an incalculable contribution to the welfare of America.Mr. W.
