Attraction* (Marion Leader)9The John Robinson circus gave two p highly satisfactory performances and _ I a well arranged parade in this city 5' yesterday and no one of the many , thousands who patronized the enter-pj prise was heard to complain that they did not get their money’s worth. At no stage in its history was the showif bigger and better than now and it is being managed in a thoroughly competent and pleasing manner.It is one o fthe most up to date and cleanest shows that has ever visited i' this city, and those who enjoyed the 11 entertainment are enthusiastic in their i 1 praise of it. It is really a great cir-,1 c us, and those who enjoy this kind of , [ an entertainment will find in the r j Robinson show all worth while to . j see. The acts are marvelous, the program varied and extensive, and the menagerie one of the best selected and most interesting the people of this part of the state ever looked upon.Everybody connected with the showj is kind* courteous and considerate.| and the Robinson circus certainly has well earned the gerat popularity it is enjoying. They give what they advertise. and the show is not in the least exaggerated by the press matter and bill dope. Marion hopes to be on the Robinson show route as long as it is in existence.The show was primarily a circus, containing all the features making up a complete and well rounded out amusement. There was nothing in the acting which might cans* a regret on the part of anyone that they had seen | it Every part of the program was j free froni anything which might prove j offensive even to the most critical, and J lt;n tiic whole the cirrus was one of | the ( leanest sccn in Marion in manyI years.i One noticeable feature of the cir-! rue was the fine horses and the manner m which many of them were trained The menagerie was complete with all of the animals and curiosities which attract the attention of the chil-j dr^n as well as the grown-ups and | was well patronized. The big herd of ' elephant*. according to the size of which the small boy judges the circus as a rule, was well trained and performed many new and difficult stunts.The aggregation of clowns, the joy of the child’s heart, was large and ofTered considerable amusement with various original performances. The Robinson circus boast* one of the best outfits of clow'ns in the circus world. Danny Ryan and Ab Johnson are the producing clowns with the show and to them goeu the bulk of the credit for the sucres? of the clown acts.At various times during the show'the big top was filled with men and women performing feats of daring and skill In various ways M no time did any of the performers work over i not. making their worl: much more hazardous. In this connection Gordon Orton attracted a great deal of attention hv his work on a slick rope high in the air.The act by the trained seals was unusual and showed much careful training of the animals. Captain Kent had charge of this par of the performance.The elephant acts in all three rings brought forth much applause. The unwieldy animals did diflcult stunts with ease while the Oriental dance by one of thent was the so iree of much amusement.The work of the Six Powells and of Tetu Robinson as well as that by three Cubans on double tight wires was beyond the ordinary Tetu Robinson is a member of the show family, having been adopted 17 years ago when the circus toured the world. She was born In Japan and was brought to this country by the Robinson fam-ilv ;it the age of two years.The Hedini family presented some fin*' exhibitions of horsemanship. Madam Redini is well known in the clrmis world and has trained many of tie* ne’St valuable hoiscs with the show. The Costellos also gave some excellent exhibitions in this line.The wild west perforn ance following the main show contained acts on a par with the remainder of the cir-riii The cowboys and cowgirls demonstrated some of the most daring ami difficult acts in this connectionFollowing the show last night the circus loaded and left lor El wood, where it will show today.
