Suddenly, with the cry Oh, papa/’ she sank. Her father dived from the boat after her. Both were under water so long that it was feared they were drowned. However in a few minutes Cranston came to the surface with his daughter in his arms. He wag seized with cramps, but Bell, who had been an eye witness from the bank had plunged into the water and by this time reached the place and rescued tlio couple,\v. n. cr notice.
