H. Hockman Friday afterooon lined Charles Shirley $50 and costs after tindin^ him guilty of the charge of selling liquor to minors. Mr. Hockman took occasion to tell Mr. Shirley that the law allowed him many privileges which were seemingly unjust, that he could take the last penny in payment for whiskey from menf but the law called a halt in its sale to youths. Mr. Hockman, in passing sentence, a^Ro spoke of thefinal result* of the trattlc, that it tilled the eleemosynary institutions of tl e ountry and deprived the wives and children of the necessaries of life. His words were sharp and full of sting and gave evidence to the fact that the present city government will not tolerate anv breach of the law in theliquor business In this city.tt1♦ItIa\ctcIf-WILL CONVENEIN NAPOLEON.lt;(Total from Citizens.........t 3ress,Ten pert *nt.
