The friends and family of Charles Davidson of Cumberland and the late Kitty Ryan, along with the congregation of St. John’s Lutheran Church, 400 Arch St., met on the newly paved church parking lot recently to dedicate the church bells, green space and parking lot. The ceremony began with the ringing of the church bells, followed by prayer by P2stor Tormod Svensson. Doug Schmidt, church council member, acknowledged the individual donors whose generosity made these improvements and additions to the church possible. City Councilman Nick Scarpelli and County Commissioner Bill Valentine were present for the dedication ceremony. Brief remarks were made by James Stafford, nephew of Kitty Ryan, and by Linda Mouse, representing the Davidson family, whose donation was given in memory of Harold Davidson. brother of Charles Davidson.
