Sunday American-Statesman, Austin, TexasPage 7-BMARIONETTE THEATER TO GIVE 5 SHOWSThe Marionette Theater, new city I recreation department venture this summer, will close the season with five playground shows this week, jMrs. Jean Bock, director, said j classes will continue in preparation | for a marionette festival in Zilker Park in August and for another production this fall.•'We’ve had a swell season,'’ Mrs. Bock said. “Hundred of children have seen the snows this summer, and they seemed to enjoy them.Two shows will be given Tuesday, one on Govaile Playground at 3 30 p. m. and another at Santa Rita Courts at 4*45 p. m.The same show. “The Three Bears.” will be given Thursday at 4 p. m. on Rosewood Playground.The last two productions will be Friday on East Avenue Playground at 3:30 p. m. and at Chalmers Courts at 4:45 p. m.Besides • short skit, the puppetsalso go through specialty acts involving dancers, a piano player and a clown.The theater tours playgrounds in a specially built trailer. Children in the workshop meet at the Austin Athletic Club every weekday from 2 to 4 p. m. They build their own sets and equipment and make their own puppets.Members of the Marionette Theater are Reger Neubauer, EllisIConkle.
