The place where the powwow goes 011 is in a large pasture, about live nft$fes south of the Omaha agency. The meeting is what might be termed the annual jollification of this tribe, consisting of horse racing, dancing, gambling and drinking. Several hundred Sioux have joined the Omahns as well as a number of Poncas, and a few foreign Indians from Iowa.
