A collection of odds ond ends •••♦•* with some of the ends being pretty odd.Some wise soul once observed that when people get behind^ the wheel of an automobile, there seems to be some sort of JeckyU-Hyoe change in their personality. And I am inclined to agree. Meek, gentle people who are the quintessence of politeness and tact when lt;wi foot, change into snarling, rampaging monsters when they get behind the wheel. A man who wjll politely hold the door for an old lady as she leaves a store will then get into his car and try to knock down the same old lady as she crosses the street. Or at the very east, he will whi* by her so close that he will scare the living daylights out of her. (And why, by the way, 'living* daylights? Surely 'dead* daylights wouldbe more euphonious and just as meaningful.)But the worst offenders, at least to me personally, are those sions who seem to feel that the whole wide world outside the confines of their automobile is their own private dumping grounds. Chances are that these people are fastidious in their dress and their homes are immaculate, but they merrily drive down the Streets and highways leaving behind them a steady stream of assorted trash.And I, for one, am getting tired of picking up behind them.
