POSTCARD FROM THE PASTThis postcard shows the original YMCA building at 421 Eighth St., the Methodist Church (later First Church United) and the Presbyterian Church (later Central United). Construction of the Y building began in 1904, with the cornerstone being laid in 1905. The official opening was held on Jan. 11,1906. The contractor was Charles Hall. The building cost $55,677 and was demolished in 1965.
