The rams from Laredo south and southeastward into south Webb county and Zapata county were light at some places amf much neavier at other places, some places getting one inch or more of rnmfall.The light showers of the past few days, supplemented by those which were recorded Sunday and Monday night and up to fuesday morning will prove ox inestimable value to the ranches and mages of this section, while they will also put a good season in the ground for grouung stock crops, and also for tomato and sweet pepper plants soon to be transplanted from seed beds to the open fields.At Mtrando City Monday night at /:45 o’clock during the rain-rall and heavy electrical storm lightning struck one of the 5.5 -000-barrel Magnolia Petroleum Co storage tanks just northeast of Mirando City ancl set it afire. The tank contained 31,000 barrels of oil at the time it was struck by lightning and ignited and the work of salvaging as much oil as possible was in progress Monday night and early Tuesday morning.
