Thomas. Upon motion the minutes the June meeting were approved published.On the call for personal petitions Mrs. Wilson and Mr. Hatcher stated the condition and asked for financial assistance for Mr. Frank Carter of the Boston district. In connection with this appeal, Mr. Mardre stated that he had been informed by a member of the family that Mr. Carter was not In destitute circumstances and had recommended accordingly at the June meeting.private roads loading off from this sec- , der, Carrlion of the highway,(Through neglect separate sheet was not furnished.)Both Mr. Nelms and Mr. J. M. He claimed that 52 head of his cattle had been dipped and quarantined and that he had been aimeBBed $104.00 W’hich had been reduced to $34.18. He claimed he had not been served with written notice, therefore thought this procedure illegal and unjust.Dr. Arundel stated that Mr. Horne had been served written notice at the beginning of the infestation which notice he claimed is sufficient under the regulations, and that later he had released Mr, Horne’s cattle temporarily, but that these cattle were exposed later and that Mr. Horne was then notified verbally some two or three times which met all requirements.here*. The Board took the position that Mr. Horne should have been served with written notice, therefore Mr. Mardre moved on Mr. McMillan's second that Mr. Horne be refunded $34*18. Carried, with Messrs. Blckley, Mardre,. Hutchison, J. B. Williams and McMillan voting for and Mr. Chastain against. The Doctor was requested to serve written notice in all such cases coming up in future.Mr. Wm. H. Platt stated that the j number of voting booths 24 already fur-! nlshed would be insufficient on occasions when the voting Is heavy and lie asked that 12 additional booths be provided, also 4 ballot boxes and 5 l.jcks and necessary chain or rope. Mr. Mardre moved on Mr. Hutchison’s second that the equipment asked be furnished. Carried. Mr. Chastain was requested to handle the matter.Mr. J. W. Nelms of Meigs submitted the following petition signed by about citizens the most of whom reside in Ochlocknee and Meigs districts: the Honorable Board of Commissioners, Thomas County:AVe note from the press that recently your body voted to sell additional good roads bonds and that crrtain stretches or roads were designated to be paved. WeCone placed in the sanitarium at Mil-ledgeville, and that he was advised that only violent and dangerous cases arebeing admitted. Therefore Miss Cone having been reported as an idiot with no means of support, Mr. Chastain mov- i ed on Mr. Hutchison’s second that $10.00 per month be appropriated until Jan. 1st next. Carried.Letters were read advising salaries being paid cattle inspectors and range riders in neighboring counties.
