MINERS RAISE A ROWPresence of Colored Waiters at LintonStirs ’Em Up.Linton, Ind., July 7.—The appear* ance of eight Terre Haute negroes in Linton last evening caused a demon* stration in which the men narrowly escaped death. Alex Sanderson, a Terre Haute caterer, was employed to serve the banquet at the institution ol 4 new lodge of Elks. He took his eook and waiters with him, and while the lodge work in the hali was going on several hundred miners assembled in the street and threatened to dynamite the hall unless the negroes were sent out of town. The eight colored menwere hurried into a cab and driven to♦Jasonville, where they were put on the train for Terre Haute, Six policemen hung on the carriage and beat back the crowd while the negroes were driving out of town.4 l
