PaintingsShown In N.Y.NEW YORK (UP1 - A collection of 48 paintings on the “West Virginia Heritage” went on display Monday in the lobby of the Westvaco Building here.The canvasses are the work of 26-year-old F. Meads Davenport and were commissioned by the West Virginia Library Commission to represent ‘‘peoole, places and things that have a bearing on the past, present and future” of the state.The two-week showing is sponsored by the commission and Westvaco. formerly theWest Virginia Pulp and PaperCo.The opening coincided withthe 93rd annual conference ofthe American Library Associa-•tion. whose first session Sunday night was addressed by West Virginia Gov. Arch Moore.
