Argonne Rebels May ProtestJudging in Contest at EnidArgonne Rebels Drum and Bugle Corps officials and Great Bend American Legion spokesmen are considering an official protest following the outcome of Enid, Oklahoma’s first annual “Music in Motion” drum and bugle corps con test July 7 in Enid.The drum and bugle corps and color guard contest, sponsored by the Great Plains Drum and Bugle Corps Association, Inc., ended on a hectic note with nearly all units either unhappy or puzzled by the contest outcome.Point breakdown as released at: the *contest field placed Great Bend’s Rebel-Heirs in first place in the Class B division with a score of 72.17. The Hutchinson Jets weresecond with 58.85.In Class A drum corps competi tion, the Hutchinson Sky - Ryders scored 79.33 for first place; the Enid Legionettes were second with75.80; Great Bend’s Argonne Rebels were third with 74.40, and the Emporia Junior Plainsmen scored70.7Figuring prominently in the drubbing sustained by the Rebels was a full point penalty invoked by one of the judges for an alleged breach Of field deportment.The judge was standing in front of Great Bend drum major Danny Anderson who was attempting to direct the locals in a final bugle fanfare The judge’s position made it impossible for the marchers to see their director. Judging rules forbid a judge to interfere with a corps performance.
