Conditions of Cox Divorce Decree—According to the divorce decreegranted Newton G. Cox from his wife** «Helen Hollingsworth Cox legal custody of their three year old daughter is granted the father with the understanding that the grandmother, Mrs. B. G. Cox, will look after the raising of the child. The mother is to have possession of the child for the first thirty days following the granting of the decree. Although there is nothing of record giving the mother privilege of seeing the child after the expiration of thirty days, it is understood that under certain conditions she will be permitted to do so at reasonable times. The divorce was granted Mr. Cox on the ground that his wife refused to cook his meals or to take care of his home. No other charge was made and there was nothing sensational about the proceedings held in chambers, an agreement having teen reached before the case came to trial. Mrs. Cox retains the name of Cox. She received $1,000 alimony, all court costs with attorney fees for both sides being paid by Mr. Cox. Attorney G. O. Dix appeared for the defendant and Attorney John T. Beasley represented the plaintiff.
