ByMARY ANNE LEFFINGWELLHudson CorrespondentHUDSON — An army of Blissfieldites invaded our fair city Saturday afternoon, tied up traffic, insulted our highest public officials then threw them in the hoose-gow, and then horrors of horrors, threatened to break Tom Saylor’s string.Topping that all off was the insult of insults! Imagine, coming into Hudson and saying “Hello Morenci.”Good thing it was all part of a well planned, humorous program to inform local residents of the gigantic week-long Blissfield Area Sesquicentenn ia 1 Celebration, July 21 through 28.Traveling with a state police escort, the 50 car caravan came into the city just after 3:30 by way of Morenci. They were met at the south US-127 city limits by the Hudson Police Department which led the parade on a winding route through the city to ThompsonField.Mayor Willard Lamb was preparing to extend a warm welcome to the city when he was accosted by two flappers, then promptly thrown into “Ye Ole Jail” on trumped up charges of molesting the pair. The slap-happy Keystone Kops and the spirited judge, who conducted the mayor’s mock trial, released him after he had paid the fine, dancing with the dollies. In the same Kangaroo Court, Chief of Police Mel Tanner was found guilty of taking too long to find the keys to the relief area. He was jailed until Hudson’s first lady, Violet Lamb, bailed him outwith a kiss for the master ofceremonies Bill Klenk. An odd assortment ofOfficials ^ In Jailncharacters were also brought ^ before the court and charged with A breaking Sesquicentennial rules by appearing with naked facesor ^ failing to get into the spirit. ir An especially pleasing portion of the program was the ap-pearance of the Sesquicentennial ( Choir, a group composed of most ^ members of the combined M Blissfield Church choirs.
