And. at thised time, they plan a trip back thisn lls tieway next year. (Good deal.)* * *Speaking of trips, I’ll bet I * I could set off one of the worst 1 epidemics” of drawn draper-. . bolted doors . . . and?dsoiditlesi:nt,errrdisconnected telephones ever to hit the city of Phoenix . . . And, it would be so easy to do . . . All I need for the job is a check through the mailing listhere at The Register-News — thereby noting the names and addresses of all former residents who are subscribers . . . To each, I could send a note announcing that Glenn and I are heading for Phoenix in October for a two-week vacation . . . (Just that — and no more . . . The idea would be to give each one the idea that —one fine morning—they would find us camping on the doorstep licking our chops as we eagerly awaited “company breakfast.”)However, Tm really not capable of such a mean trick . . . The truth of the matter is this: We will be staying with j I friends who are. at this time, in the process of moving from Texas to that city ... To be sure, it would be delightful to declare Mt. Vernon Day at a Phoeuix Park ... Or some such get-together . . . (According to Mr. Hawkins, several former residents read this column out there in Phoenix ... It would be nice to personally express my appreciation to them . . . After all, in a city that size, there are bound to be several truly talented columnists . . . So, I'm certainly complimented.)]
