Are Made PublicBrunswick, July 5,—The Town of Brunswick has offered to lease the former naval air station for )1 a year. This anil other conditions of proposals! submitted to the navy were madfc public today by Manager John J. Desmond.The Town wants a long term lease taking precedence over any existing leases but with the Navy reserving the right to recapture the premises In the event of a national emergency. The town also seeks the right to sublet various facilities on the station without first obtaining navy approval put with the reservation that the agreement can be revoked if ftny business conducted on the premises is contrary to federal, state or municipal laws or regulations. The na^y would he notified of any and all leases negotiated by the Town.tOther provisions included In the proposal as as follows^All installations and facilities shall be considered sealed when turned over to the Town, with Brunswick assuming responsibility for maintenance only when it actually uses the buildings in questions. The Town shall not be required to carry Insurance nor to post a 'bond to ensure satisfactory performance.The proposal, prepared by the Board of ‘Selectmen and Manager, lists several uses which Brunswick hopes to make of the facilities, including one or more buildings for schools, p. community hospital, indi|strlal development and supervised recreatic^i.Deadline for proposals was June 30. While the Department of Navy has not indicated how many proposals were received, it Is well known that several Individuals and organizations were Interested in leasing the base in its entirety, or some of the buildings.Brunswick Flying Service now leases from the Town the runways, control tower and parking strip* and from the navy the hangars. Bowdpin College leases the cold storage plant and wants another building for its ROTC program. Mrs. Sumner Sewall sublets through the Brunswick Flying Service approximately 25 acres of land which art being utilized as a tree nursery.Warren58 Attend Murphy BeunionWarren, July 5. —• Fifty-eight descendants of Mrs. Jane Carter Murphy of Friendship, gathered for the annual family reunion, Tuesday, at the summer home of Mr. and Mrs. AJmon Bums here, formerly the Lawrence Dolham place, by the Georges River. Feature of the lunch hour was a clam bake. Oldest member of the family in attendance was Mrs. Murphy, 84, and the youngest was Thurlow Rusgrove, three mdnths old son of Mr. and Mrs. Uoyd Rusgrove of Union.
