Impressive and excellent »i presentation, th« Pageant of the astonished thousands of people nt the lake celebration Thursday night by its blggtiess and worth Wiiu effort. There was only a fair Hard audience for the afternoon, ba« €iuts* of threatening- clouds, but several thousand gathered under the *cnn sky m night and marveled at Ui* wonderful presentation. -Long lines of townspeople streamed to the park and sat cn the seals ar-r^ngid on the hillside above the lake. Many were still corning: as late as # fVlnclc. preferring to see the lastpart of the performance rather than. njJ.sa the whole tiling-,SPECTACULAR PRODUCTION.The pageant started a bit late but Mice started made up in excellence of coloring, noting and sound for any tiicon\eniciicc*» of delay. From the first flourish of the white clad heralds until the last actor left thewith the early pioneers.WELL COSTUMED-The two pioneers. Miss Sarah June Dunston and Robert Doepel had very exact reproductions of the costumes worn by these early * ancestors or crnrg .The other members of the early community gradually collected and finally I he fiddler came in and played for the Virginia reel. This wa$ one of the most interesting parts of the program. To the tune of Yanis** Dnorlfo the dancer* went through the steps of Right Hand to Your Partner. And after it the Spirit of Pageantry led the Spirit of -Jecatur from the .stage.very real difficulty was overcome by Charles Leas who recruited some of the World war vatu ran a to help out in the effective war scene. Those v ho helped him were Max Rosci Morris Mofcler. Dick Berry. Dewitt Bigler, Wilbur Trotter. George Hays, William Horn a A Ben Trim by. Harold Hughes» M. R, Davis, Dr. Leonard Cassell, Jam on Davis. Ray Trimby. Laurence Tangncy and Michael McMahon,The Red Men’s lodge and the Daughters of Fo^ahontas furnished all the Indian costumes except those-worn, by the small boys. They also donated the wigwams and Indian stage netting*.Miss RJ1«ui Thomas directed the cast while Miss Hannah Gervlrtsc directed the dances Russell Rainey wns chairman of the properties while D. M. Swarthout directed the music. Mrs. Pan Mac knot line! charge of the eos»-tumes.One of the features wns the civic chorus sinking‘at the start of each episode and the presentation of Land of the Water*4' from “Elijah at the start of the fifth episode.
