—C, D. Calkin*, of Keating township, one of the Democrat's oldest subscribers, and who ha* a voting record of 61 years in McKean county, made us a pleasant call on Monday. Mr. Calkins is 82 years ofage, but looks and appears at least fifteen years younger, lie settled in this county in 1825, and cast bis first presidential vote for Andrew Jackson, and has voted fur every Democratic candidate from Old Hickory's day down to the present time. This old veteran of Democracy has a glorious record indeed, and his wish is that he may be spared to cast his third consecutive vote for Grover Cleveland in 18112.We sincerely hope that Mr. Calkins may live to round out a full century.
